Addie Studebaker is a multidisciplinary practicing artist based in Alaska's Mat-Su Valley who is given to writing about herself in third person on a barely-used website, as is the custom of these art-ing times.
Her recent work has focused on large-scale, site-specific sound panel murals, which she designs, fabricates, and installs herself using sustainably-made materials, hand tools, and power tools. Addie does not use pre-programmed laser cutting machines, CNC machines, or any form of automation/generative AI in her process.
Community-centered and interactive installations that encourage real life, in-person public engagement and invite the viewer to tap into their own innate sense of creativity and curiosity are central to her practice This includes the Palmer and Wasilla Tiny Art Galleries, the "Tape Wall" at 203 Kombucha in Palmer, Alaska, and hosting and participating in other interactive exhibitions and events in and around Southcentral Alaska.
Addie's most personal work finds its way out in the form of paper sculptures, paintings, collage, experimental and mixed/multi-media fine art pieces, which she exhibits and sells.
